Life's User Manual
Have you ever asked yourself, How do I live through life's craziness, manage stress, and survive troubled times? Or, What am I supposed to do with my time on earth?
Do you find yourself falling into fight-or-flight mode every time you read, watch, or listen to the news or some other form of media?
Do you wish there was a way to stop the hamster wheel spinning in your brain?
Who are we, really? What is our primary identity and true purpose? Why the heck are we even here?
How is it possible that we arrived here without any user manual? Everything else we create has one.
Welcome to the unofficially official Human Being User Manual. Discover all of the answers to your questions, including questions you didn’t know you had.
Get curious, get insights, but most of all, get ready for a manual that will change your life … or at least make you laugh out loud, and that alone is worth the price of admission. Plus, it has stick figures.
Available at Amazon (I strongly recommend the paper or hardback formats over the ebook); Kobo; Apple; Barnes & Nobles. More options plus non-US Amazon stores are over here!
The Book I Never Planned to Write
I've written 60 books, and the Human Being User Manual is the one I never saw coming. I worked on it for about five years, which is 4.6 years longer than I’ve spent on any other book in my catalogue.
Why so long, you ask?
Because this book is the reason I’m here as a writer.
That sounds pretty dramatic, but it still feels true to me.
About five years ago, I started writing reflections on different aspects of life that were connected by two golden threads. Purpose. Identity. Who are we? What is the purpose of life? And how do we hold onto that purpose and the joy it gives us in a world that seems increasingly chaotic and crazy?
I never intended to publish these thoughts. But about two years ago, I woke up one morning and all I could think about was the book I was supposed to write. It was such an intense feeling that I couldn’t get it out of my head, even when I was working on other projects. It kept prodding me, insisting that it had to be written and had to be written urgently.
Conversely and annoyingly, it was also a project that demanded time, thoughtfulness, and a level of care that, honestly, I’m not used to giving to a book.
Now you have some background of a project that is very near and dear to me. And I’m really excited that after numerous edits, proofreads, conversations, feedback from beta readers, and a lot of rereads and revisions (oh, so many), it’s out in the world.
When you read it, you will be reading my heart, my soul, and my hopes for you and for the future.
